Travel Journal Ideas - Why Write When You Can Have a Travel Story-Map?
When I shared one of my travel journal ideas of a Story-Map Journal I’d kept last year in Europe, there was a buzz of excitement and interest. Certainly, for me, it’s been the most successful travel journal I’ve ever kept. A mere glance at any page brings my travel memories vividly, and instantly, back to life without having to wade through pages of words – which being a visual person, is bliss! Such as the page, illustrated above, of a day in north Wales, when we drove down the coast, crossing a stone bridge, to the local auction room where we negotiated to swap a basket full of collectible wares, we’d taken with us to sell, for a very fine antique glass. Driving back around the long sandy bay via Harlech’s thirteenth century castle we had a lunch of freshly bought bread, home cured ham and home grown tomatoes, followed by some apple with blackberries we’d gathered from the hedgerow. And at tea went on to enjoy a home baked buttery fruit cake and scones with lemon and ginger tickle.
How to Bullet Journal: The Absolute Ultimate Guide — The Lazy Genius Collective
We all have different brains that see the world in different ways. Some of you see words as colors, others see the months in a circle, and I see just about everything as linear as it can be. That means we all need different perspectives on our calendars. I like for my Monthly Log to be a list of dates rather a traditional calendar with squares; I tried both and totally prefer the list. But I still like to see the year at a glance, especially when holidays and birthdays fall. So in the front of my Bullet Journal is a simple calendar with just that - holidays and birthdays.

Current Noodler’s Ink Colors – Noodler's Ink
Please note that due to computer imaging and the difficulty of matching true color in natural versus artificial light sources – the ink colors shown here are only to be used as a general reference (being in digital form of course). Apache Sunset, for example – is a brighter and more golden color than depicted here, as Habanero is redder than Apache Sunset (like the hot pepper!)….Beaver has a teal base and is not in the brown family though it appears similar to brown, Sequoia is a type of dark mossy evergreen yet is not as teal as Squetegue (a color that copies the back of a fish that is hard to catch on the Atlantic shoreline in isolated estuaries), nightshade is an extremely dark purple mimicking the deadly family of plants, and so forth. Please only use this scan as a guide to color range and your selection, but not as a certain or scientifically exact replica of the true colors produced by the inks.
Technique Tutorials, Inspiration and Prompts ★
Art journaling is a fantastic hobby for people who enjoy being artistic, and when you finish a journal it is so satisfying to look through the beautiful and varied pages you've created. I especially love journals that incorporate a wide range of media and texture experiments because these journals are literally bursting at the seams and are so fun to look through! You can use a huge number of different materials in your journal, and you can really let your creativity run free without judgement. The most popular materials are pens (markers, felt tips, micron pens etc) and paints (acrylic, watercolor, oil etc), although I've seen everything from salt to tea bags being used! More materials you can use include: magazine pages, recycled book pages, ephemera, crayons, pencils, photos, pastels, newspaper, inks, different kinds of paper (tissue, crepe, parchment etc), leaves, and thin fabrics like muslin and cheesecloth.
