NES Cartridge Hides Sweet Homebrew Nintendo Emulator
Nintendo emulators aren’t hard to find by any means, but this is the first time we’ve seen one made out of an old NES cartridge. Specifically, it hides inside of the Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt cartridge, which is the very game combo that most of us used for the first time with our old-school NESs. Besides the nostalgia value of the cartridge, the emulator is pure genius. It plays a selection of Gameboy, Gameboy Color and and NES games, and the buttons you see on the front are from an original NES controller.

Water Great Idea! Awesome Amphibious DIY Bicycle
If the environmentalists are right and the world ends up covered in water within the next few decades, this might be the most handy vehicle to have around. Constructed by intrepid Chinese DIYer Li Jin, the amphibious bicycle works on both land and water, making it ideal for getting around in a future Waterworld. The modded bike uses eight empty water jugs to help it float, making a sort of pontoon that’s propelled by adjustable vane wheels. When the rider is across the water and ready to ride on dry land again, the jugs simply flip up and out of the way, and the bike functions like normal. The project is not only a creative way to get around through various conditions; it’s also a cool way to recycle those empty water jugs.

Hack Your Pocket Moleskine Into A Wallet
If you’re like me, you love your Moleskine, but hate having to lug around one more thing in your pants pockets. With a cell phone and wallet already occupying valuable pocket real estate, the addition of the Moleskine can make your bottom half start to feel bulky. I thought about getting one of David Allen’s NoteTaker Wallets, in order to combine my wallet with the note taking functionality of the Moleskine, but they’re $90! As a law student who’s taking on student debt, I can not bring myself to drop $90 for a wallet.

You can use a frame you bought or a frame you made by yourself. To make it you just need to find some wood strips, sand them, paint or stain them and fasten together with the staples and nails. Yes, everything is as simple as it sounds.
DIY Gear: Create Your Own Awesome
Believe it or not, Do-It-Yourself isn’t just the realm of Bob Vila and that dude Ty on all those Discovery shows. You can, in fact, do it yourself. With a helpful bit of inspiration and an almost complete lack of instruction (exactly how we like it), you can combine found items and a bit of know-how into some seriously awesome stuff for your home – without the obscene price tag that high designers and big box stores would charge you for similar items. Like any good vacation, the planning of any project starts with the destination.
Coolest Hack Ever? Cool Water + Pipes + Fan = DIY AC
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives you an apartment with no air conditioning, you grab some supplies and make your own air conditioner. A clever Flickr user did just that and documented his project with annotated pictures. Starting off with a regular oscillating tabletop fan, he wrapped copper tubing in a spiral around the front and back of the fan. Flexible plastic tubing connects the copper coils to the reservoir below so that the fan can still oscillate.
