What Is on the Horizon for Education Technology?
Is there anything more exciting today in schools than the marriage of technology and pedagogy? Educators are finding new ways to connect with students, using students’ individual needs and wants to guide their instruction. A deeper connection forms between teacher and student when technology is used to enhance their relationship. “The NMC/CoSN Horizon Report: 2016 K-12 Edition,” which reveals emerging technology trends in education over the next five years, recently was released. In it, we see which technologies may be used to advance personalized learning for millions of students across the globe, including virtual reality, robotics, makerspaces, online instruction and wearable tech. Most important, two long-term trends were identified in the report, which was jointly conducted by the New Media Consortium and the Consortium for School Networking.

"Crea y aprende con Laura", un "clásico" entre los docentes
Comenzado en el 2007, este espacio ha ido creciendo en profundidad y diversificación de contenidos. Consta de varios apartados que podéis consultar en las pestañas que incluye debajo de la cabecera. En ellas encontraremos herramientas y actividades para todas las asignaturas, un apartado específico para Google+, tutoriales, noticias de actualidad, una cuidada selección de artículos para la Educación para la Salud, o de Ecología y Medio Ambiente. Asimismo son muy conocidas sus actividades de ciberacción o concienciación ciudadana. Es un blog hecho desde Ubuntu y es de destacar su defensa del software libre, del que ofrece todo tipo de información y ejemplos. Él nos explica el proceso de formación de su blog de esta manera:

El programa «ambientech» es un portal educativo que tiene como objetivo difundir y facilitar el aprendizaje de las ciencias, la tecnología, la sociedad y el medioambiente y está dirigido al alumnado de la ESO, Bachillerato y Ciclos Formativos. Constituye una herramienta de apoyo para el profesorado ya que propone trabajar las áreas temáticas citadas utilizando los recursos que ofrecen las TIC a través de actividades multimedia, que incluyen animaciones interactivas y ejercicios con un alto nivel de interactividad; estando todas las actividades disponibles en español e inglés. El programa «ambientech» relaciona de manera integrada las ciencias, la tecnología, la sociedad y el medioambiente.
