Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pull-Apart Bread
I usually know I've found a winning recipe, when I say the title and start to salivate. Cheddar bacon ranch pulls did just the trick. I ran across this recipe on Plain Chicken, and it's plain addictive -- she also refers to it as "crack bread." It's an easy way to spice up an otherwise standard meal or to wow company. It can be served as a bread course with dinner or as a nice hearty appetizer. I won't promise you that it's light, but I will promise that it will disappear.

Red Azuki Bean Filled Mochi Cupcakes with Matcha Green Tea Frosting

Our other neighbor Cathy offered to whip up some of her delicious egg rolls and noodles, Jamie supplied her precious Lupicia tea, and since Jamie has her hands full chasing around her adorable 10-month-old daughter, I figured I would chip in with dessert. But what do bring that would be tasty next to Cathy's delicious Chinese delectables and Jamie's wonderful tea? One of my favorite Japanese treats is daifuku manju: sweetened mochi (rice cake) filled with an (sweet bean paste) that is intended to be eaten with tea.
DIY Cupcakes in Jars
Whenever I make cupcakes, one of the big problems I have is how to give them to people. If you simply hand someone a cupcake, they can’t exactly pop it in their bag and take it home, so they either have to eat it on the spot or carry it the whole way home. That’s why cupcakes in jars are the perfect solution! Not only do they look and taste amazing but they make the perfect gift or going-home present or dessert. I made salted caramel chocolate cupcakes and used chocolate cupcakes for the cake, salted caramel for the middle layer and caramel frosting for the top. YUM!
