Speech Analysis: How to Critique a Speech Published: Jan 18th, 2008 Studying other speakers is a critical skill, one of the 25 essential skills for a public speaker. The ability to analyze a speech will accelerate the growth of any speaker. The Speech Analysis Series is a series of articles examining different aspects of presentation analysis. You will learn how to study a speech and how to deliver an effective speech evaluation. Later articles will examine Toastmasters evaluation contests and speech evaluation forms and resources. The Speech Analysis Series The first in the series, this article outlines questions to ask yourself when assessing a presentation. The Most Important Thing to Analyze: The Speech Objectives Knowing the speaker’s objective is critical to analyzing the speech, and should certainly influence how you study it. What is the speaker’s goal? The Audience and Context for the Speech A speaker will need to use different techniques to connect with an audience of 1500 than they would with an audience of 15. Humor

Inclusion Fusion | pulling my hair out in an inclusion classroom Students Sitting Around Too Much? Try Chat Stations.Cult of Pedagogy You’ve probably heard of — and maybe used — learning stations in your classroom. With stations, teachers set up activities around their rooms, then have students rotate from station to station, performing each task. They are a wonderful way to provide variety and engagement in your classroom. There’s only one real downside to stations — they take a LOT of time to set up. So today I’m proposing a watered-down version of stations that keeps the movement, interactivity and variety while minimizing the prep work. On top of their flexibility as a cooperative learning tool, Chat Stations can also dramatically improve whole-class discussions. Here’s a video demonstrating how Chat Stations work: The more traditional kinds of stations — where students perform more complex or hands-on work — are still the gold standard for student engagement, but Chat Stations can be a great strategy for those times when you haven’t been able to prepare a “real” station.

Engage Now - Student Interactions - teacher heath Do you hear your students say things like: "No! That's Wrong!" "What are you talking about?" "Stop being so bossy!" Students Learn MORE when they discover new ideas from each other. I created 4 posters to hang on the wall, model, practice and constantly refer to during lessons. PROBLEM 1: Students weren't LISTENING to each other: First and foremost, I created a list of things that I wanted to 'see and hear' my kids doing that showed they were LISTENING to each other. PROBLEM 2: Students weren't STATING their thoughts clearly: Then, I created a list of idea 'stems' that would encourage students to use evidence to back up claims - this way, other students can see why a student made a claim. PROBLEM 3: Students were ARGUING and DISAGREEING: I created a list of 'respectful' ways to disagree. PROBLEM 4: Students weren't ASKING EACH OTHER FOR CLARITY: This was so weird to me. Here's a Music Video that shows each of the 4 topics in the posters:

(2) Dela in eleverna i grupper om tre.

In the modern world, we communicate across borders. By speaking better English, people all over the world can hear our voice. Well, English teachers and English classes definitely help. What you need is to become a self-directed learner, somebody who takes responsibility for their own learning and creates their own learning programme to develop their English. Now, it’s certainly true that speaking is a social activity and is best done with other people. You can do the same with your English. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
