Kolding Campus In a sustainable class of its own As regards the design of the building, Henning Larsen Architects has not only minimised the need for energy for lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation; the architects have also focused on optimising the passive properties of the building to allow for the shape and construction to contribute to solving some the tasks that would otherwise be solved by means of energy intensive technologies. Daylight is an important parameter in a building to ensure a healthy indoor climate and the well-being of the users. However, the approach should be to balance the inflow of daylight by means of large glass areas and window screenings as large glass areas could also have negative consequences as regards heat loss, increased requirements for cooling and ventilation. In the design phase, focus has been on providing all study and work spaces and teaching rooms with the right amount of daylight.

The genesis of something funny and something brilliant or innovative or paradigm changing are very similar. diller scofidio + renfro Open standards such as HTML5, WebGL, and WebAssembly have continually matured over the years and serve as viable alternatives for Flash content. Also, major browser vendors are integrating these open standards into their browsers and deprecating most other plug-ins (like Flash Player). See Flash Player EOL announcements from Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla. By providing more than three years’ advance notice, Adobe believes that there has been sufficient time for developers, designers, businesses, and other parties to migrate Flash content to new standards. Bizarre Websites On Which You Can Kill Time With Style Modern Web-building technologies allow designers to realize their most daring and creative ideas. Enhanced interactivity and a remarkable visual appearance can be achieved by means of such tools as Flash, JavaScript and Papervision3D, to name just a few. These strengths usually impress and entertain visitors and thus are often used for conceptual artistic presentations and promotional campaigns. In this post, you’ll find a collection of amusing websites that, by combining unconventional (and sometimes bizarre) ideas and clever JavaScript and Flash effects, will entice you to play on them for an embarrassing long time. Car park at Ørestad Upper Secondary School The identity of the car park is based on its location in the city as well as its function as part of the traffic facilities of Copenhagen, including the airport and metro. The objective of the design is to open up and activate the car park and downplay its warehouse character and technical expression. The intention is to create a safe car park encouraging rational and efficient commercial parking. To achieve this, the entry and exit are located in the same place, one-way traffic by means of ramps has been introduced and focus has been on making it easy for the users to find their way.

Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg The Ravine House is a remarkable statement of modern residential architecture set into an equally remarkable landscape of native vegetation. It is sited immediately adjacent to steeply sloping banks common within the Toronto ravine system. The challenge of the design of the North Garden was to reconcile the relationship of this space and its potential with that of the entry drive, forecourt, and main entrance to the home. To further enhance the already unfolding arrival sequence, the idea of creating a secret garden that was exclusive to the outward views from the house was seized upon. To achieve this, a privacy screen was situated to intervene between the driveway area and the woods.

BIG beach & howe tower . vancouver 2semesters 150entradas 150posts 2semestres Beach & Howe Tower . Vancouver Beach and Howe will be part of a new phase in Vancouver’s very short but extremely successful history of urban policy. It will announce the entry point into downtown Vancouver from Granville Bridge, forming a gateway to the city. The tower and base are a new interpretation of the local typology deemed ‘Vancouverism’ of a new urbanist podium coupled with a slender tower, which seeks to preserve view cones through the city while activating the pedestrian street. Calabar International Convention Center The multi-functional and flexible building will also offer the citizens of Calabar a new cultural centre that will provide the setting for concerts, film festivals and exhibitions. The Calabar International Convention Centre consists of four adjoining, sculptural volumes. The building is situated on top of a hill and has a panoramic view from the foyer. On the one side, the location on the middle of the hill creates a natural amphitheatre with a room for several thousand people. On the other side, you have a spectacular view of the river delta. The volumes are cast in concrete and appear as sharply cut.

25 Pictures of The Most Comfortably Uncomfortable First World Problems In Africa, they don’t have bread to eat. BUT WHY DOES THAT HAVE TO MEAN THAT THE CHEESE IN MY BURGER IS ESCAPING THE BUNS’ OUTLINE? Have something to say about this post? Umeå School of Architecture As a growth centre for the architecture of the future, Umeå School of Architecture will provide the framework for inspiration and innovation. From the outside, the building has a cubic expression with its larch facades and square windows placed in a vibrant, rhythmic sequence on all sides. The interior space of the building is designed as a dynamic sequence of stairs and split, open floor levels where abstract, white boxes hang freely from the ceiling filtering the light coming in through the high skylights. One of the key objectives has been to create a bright and open study environment where everyone is part of the same room – only separated by the split levels and glass walls of the teaching rooms.
