Nutella Mug Cake
There are several food bloggers that I follow religiously. In fact I have a hard time concentrating at work until I read their posts each morning (ssshh!). And a lot of them just crack me up. Here’s what you’ll need You’ll need 4 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 4 tablespoons self-rising flour, 3 tablespoons milk, 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, And the Nutella! Oh yeah…and an egg. Whisk with a fork until smooth It has magically risen and baked completely in 1.5 minutes. I quickly made some whipped cream, then dug in! Nutella Mug Cake Yields 1 Ingredients 4 tablespoons self-rising flour 4 tablespoons sugar 1 egg 3 tablespoons cocoa powder 3 tablespoons Nutella 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons vegetable oil Whipped Cream Topping (if desired) ½ cup heavy cream 1 tablespoon sugar Instructions Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug.

Minute Microwave Cheesecake Margaret asked me if there was some way to make a quick cheesecake. “I’d love to see a cheesecake ‘in a minute,’” she told me. “Just a single serving size.” I love a cooking challenge so, with her mandate, I set out to create a simple dessert that: 1. The spoon in my mouth proves I achieved the desired results. You might wonder why I added the egg to the recipe. On busy work-week days, it’s important to have something that you can grab and take to the office. Some things to consider before you start microwaving: You can substitute high-fat cream cheese and sour cream for a lower-fat product. The ingredients coming together in the bowl before microwaving. 2 ounces cream cheese, softened 2 Tbsp sour cream 1 egg ½ tsp lemon juice ¼ tsp vanilla 2-4 Tbsp sugar replacement sub (taste as you go) Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a microwave-safe bowl. Optional: Top with fresh fruit, whipped cream and nut meal. Makes one, one-cup serving.

'Baked' Oatmeal in a Mug I recently posted about Chocolate Cake in a Mug, where I showed you how to bake a single-serving chocolate cake in only a few minutes. 32 Books That Will Actually Change Your Life 60 Second Chocolate Chip Muffin Let’s talk about Energy… Have you seen mine? Pretty sure it ran off to an exclusive resort in Tahiti somewhere, and is gettin’ rubbed with suntan oil by the one and only Christian Bale… Holy Batman!

11 Brilliant Scientist Tattoos We’ve brought you literary tattoos, math tattoos and librarian tattoos, but now it’s time to take a look at the tattoos of scientists. From astronomers to biologists and from physicists to geographers, these tattooees do a great job at representing the wide array of scientific pursuits. Special thanks to Carl Zimmer and his fantastic book Science Ink: Tattoos of the Science Obsessed, which is where many of these great pieces came from. 1. Paleontology Trevor has many geeky tattoos, including three directly related to his paleontologist position at the Page Museum, where scientists excavate, clean, study, and mount fossil samples found at the La Brea Tar Pits in LA. 2. Fergus is a medical physicist who works with Ionising radiation. 3. Geographer Marina Islas has a map of the world on her back, which is very appropriate, given her profession. 4. 5. Brazilian biologist Pato Gabriel got a network of neurons tattooed over his shoulder in order to represent the circuitry of the human brain. 6.

Banana Oatmeal “Cookies” | Bionic Bites I’d very loosely call these treats cookies. Why? The recipe is basically two ingredients, oats and bananas, plus a few add-ins. Also, it’s pretty healthy. Probably with my add-ins they’re only about 40 calories each, but don’t let that scare you. I found this recipe on The Burlap Bag when looking for a non-banana bread recipe to use up all my overripe bananas. If gluten is an issue for you, these “cookies” are also gluten-free. I hope you try them. Banana Oatmeal “Cookies” Adapted from The Burlap Bag Yields: 16 small cookies Ingredients 2 large overripe bananas 1 cup quick oats 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 3/4 teaspoon sugar pinch of salt 1/4 teaspoon butter 1/4 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 cup raisins butter or oil to grease two cookie sheets Preparation 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. D'Âme Bio, Recettes de Cuisine biologique, sans gluten, sans lait et sans beurre 19 Amazing Details from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter | Mental Floss UK Over the course of seven books and eight movies, the Harry Potter series has transported readers into a magical world. Universal Studios has sought to make at least part of that world into reality with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida (and soon in Los Angeles as well). The first park, within the Islands of Adventure, opened to the public on June 18, 2010, and allows park guests to walk throughout the shops of Hogsmeade and into the Hogwarts castle. 1. The park hired a large number of its team members directly from Britain in order to make the experience as authentic as possible. 2. J.K. 3. Waiting in line for the Dragon Challenge roller coaster, just as you cross the bridge and enter the castle, you can get a glimpse of Arthur Weasley's flying Ford Anglia, which Ron and Harry crashed into the Whomping Willow in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. 4. 5. 6. In the books and movies, this London pub serves as a gateway between the muggle and the magical world.

Whole Wheat Carrot Cake Pancakes with Cream Cheese Syrup ~~~~ This post was originally posted in the spring of 2012, this week this recipe was an assignment for Sundays With Joy so I am re-sharing it!~~~~ Easter is almost here! Do you celebrate? I have one child who is pumped! His words the other night "Mama.... the Easter Bunny just FREAKS me right out!" He's had nightmares about the Easter Bunny recently as well. I suspect in his mind he pictures this.... (and just for the record NO he has not see that movie I'm just joking...) My plan is to rent Hop this week and hopes that he will like it, lose his fear, and be excited for Easter when he goes to bed on Saturday night. If this keeps up, Saturday night will be a long one... Yesterday morning the kids and I had a little fun in the kitchen. I say to the boys "How about Carrot Pancakes?!?!" So after some convincing they helped me whip up a quick batch as a sample. And to their surprised LOVED them. Directions: Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
