This article looks at the story and background of the Elohim and is divided into a number of sections: Human Evolution Most people are aware of the Darwinian concept of evolution, which suggests that we are descended from a common ancestor with the great apes.
Tracking human evolution has been a painstaking archaeological task but it is now thought that our earliest ancestors lived around 4 million years ago. There are many pieces of the jigsaw missing, with different hominid species arriving and disappearing but something significant happened around 150,000 years ago, which produced a new breed of human beings called 'homo sapiens', our direct ancestors. The Doctrine of Original Sin. The Doctrine of Original Sin Therefore, just as through one person sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all, inasmuch as all sinned --Romans 5:12 The first man: Adam In order to understand the doctrine of original sin, it is necessary to begin with the first created man, Adam.
Scripture and Tradition tell us that "God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27). From the very beginning man held a special place in God’s creation. Lucifer. Lucifer (/ˈluːsɪfər/ or /ˈljuːsɪfər/) is the King James Version rendering of the Hebrew word הֵילֵל in Isaiah 14:12.[1] This word, transliterated hêlêl[1] or heylel,[2] occurs only once in the Hebrew Bible[1] and according to the KJV-influenced Strong's Concordance means "shining one, morning star, Lucifer".[2] The word Lucifer is taken from the Latin Vulgate,[3] which translates הֵילֵל as lucifer,[Isa 14:12][4][5] meaning "the morning star, the planet Venus", or, as an adjective, "light-bringing".[6] The Septuagint renders הֵילֵל in Greek as ἑωσφόρος[7][8][9][10][11] (heōsphoros),[12][13][14] a name, literally "bringer of dawn", for the morning star.[15] In this passage Isaiah applies to a king of Babylon the image of the morning star fallen from the sky, an image he is generally believed to have borrowed from a legend in Canaanite mythology.[16] Etymology, Lucifer or morning star[edit]

Hell seems to be a collective assault on the American imagination — the culmination of our entire post-Columbus cultural history and political infrastructure.
Ask anyone familiar with it to describe the scene and you’ll likely get the same description across the board — a furnace of torture, suffering, demons and unfathomable pain. Hell is embedded into our lives, whether we believe in it or not. It’s a place mutually visited by every person’s imagination that has been exposed to an Abrahamic society. It’s a place we condemn undesirables to, a place we reference to instill fear and obedience, a place we devotionally protect our loved ones from being exiled to. Book of god. In 1650 B.C., after years of civil war, new rulers, the New Kingdom pharaohs, conquered Egypt. Pharaoh Thothmose I of the new regime invaded Enlilite Mesopotamia to the Euphrates River, where Abraham’s relatives and their descendants lived. Thothmose expected Enlilite retaliation. He feared the descendants of Israel/Jacob in Egypt–all 600,000–could take Egypt from within. Thothmose I jettisoned the Middle Kingdom’s promise that Egypt honor the now dangerous "Children" of Israel. To save their newborn son, in 1513 B.C., a couple descended from Jacob/Israel laid the boy son in a box and floated it down a stream where Thothmose’s daughter bathed. She named the boy MOSES and adopted him.

Michael Salla) On March 14, Israeli News Live published a provocative story titled “The Fallen Angels Imprisoned in Antarctica and are still Alive.” The commentator, Steven Ben-Nun, analyzed the apocryphal Book of Enoch, which describes the experiences of Enoch, a pre-deluvian biblical figure, who was taken into the heavens to witness and play a key role in a major celestial conflict. A brief but interesting item in this post. In keeping up with ongoing elements and developments in biblical studies I came across a blog I hadn't read before. It included a post titled "Lilith in the Bible and Jewish Folklore. " Readers may have heard of Lilith from Jewish folklore with the idea that she was Adam's second wife.
But this post takes another approach after considering a mention of her in the book of Isaiah, chapter 34 (Jerusalem Bible translation): Wild cats will meet hyenas there, the satyrs will call to each other, there too will Lilith take cover seeking rest. Flood Stories from Around the World. He stories below are flood stories from the world's folklore. I have included stories here if (1) they are stories; (2) they are folklore, not historical accounts or fiction by a known author; and (3) they involve a flood. In most borderline cases, I included the story here anyway. For example, one story (Hopi) tells of a flood which was avoided and never occurred. My method for collecting these stories is simply to collect every flood story I find. I have omitted a few extremely fragmentary accounts, such as sources that say "These people have a legend of a flood in which most people were killed" and little or nothing more. Within each continent or region, stories are grouped by language family. I am sure there are many more flood stories which could be included here.
Vogul: After seven years of drought, the Great Woman said to the Great Man that rains had come elsewhere; how should they save themselves. Easter Sunday is a festival and holiday celebrated by millions of people around the world who honour the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred three days after his crucifixion at Calvary.
It is also the day that children excitedly wait for the Easter bunny to arrive and deliver their treats of chocolate eggs. Easter is a ‘movable feast’ which is chosen to correspond with the first Sunday following the full moon after the March equinox, and occurs on different dates around the world since western churches use the Gregorian calendar, while eastern churches use the Julian calendar.
So where did this ‘movable feast’ begin, and what are the origins of the traditions and customs celebrated on this important day around the world? Christian’s today celebrate Easter Sunday as the resurrection of Jesus. Image source . Most historians, including Biblical scholars, agree that Easter was originally a pagan festival.
