The Sweetie Pie Hat
When I first designed the Sweetie Pie Hat four years ago, I had plenty of time on my hands to create patterns. With no one tugging at my sleeve while I knit, I had deep reserves of concentration and loads of patience. But now that I have a one and half year old, updating an old beloved pattern with new yarn and simpler instructions is about all I can handle!!
Sliding loop : an easy way to begin granny square!
The double sliding loop is my favorite way to begin a granny square. I find this method fabulous as I can make the beginning ring the size I want. Point Popcorn
This popcorn crochet stitch really pops! The popcorn stitch (abbreviated pop or pc) is a nicely rounded, compact oval that stands out from the fabric. It takes a bit more time to make than other raised stitches, but it’s well worth the effort. For even more fun, you can work popcorn stitches so that they “pop” to the front or the back of the fabric, depending on where you want them to stand out. Work a 5-double-crochet popcorn stitch so that it pops to the front of your design:
