Skip the Extended Warranty; Use a Good Credit Card Instead Full Disclosure: I am a Best Buy employee. This is my opinion only, not necessarily of Best Buy as a company nor any other retailers. I often get this from customers about how their credit cards double manufacture's warranty. Honestly, that's great that their credit card offers this feature. Anybody who has ever filed a claim against a warranty knows how frustrating difficult it can be to get any results. Now, going through your credit card company won't be as bad but again, they often require you try to go through the manufacturer first, especially if it's still under the 1 year warranty. That same mother had to wait 2-3 months each time she sent it in. As mentioned by others, warranties and thus extended warranties generally do not cover accidental damage through normal use, surge, and normal wear and tear. These "extended warranties" pitches you hear at retailers aren't extended warranties at all.

For many gadgets, that’s relatively easy because you can compare similar specs such as CPU speed, RAM, screen size, etc. They aim to be the “Epinions for comparisons,” founder Akshay Arabolu says. “We want to own the mindshare for comparisons on the web,” Arabolu says. And again, it’s the users who then populate the reviews. In terms of the fear that people may game such a system, Arabolu says their commitment to transparency in the reviews will mitigate that. Arabolu says that he started building GetComparisons a year ago with two contractors. GetComparisons just got done with a new redesign this week.

Free PDF Unlock Online Utility (Beta) Some PDF documents prevent the user from copying and pasting or printing it's contents. This sometimes presents a problem since the author of the PDF might have used a font that is not available in the sytem trying to read it.
