My husband and I are able to communicate through phone calls, texts and our linked google calendar.

Report exposes fracking's effects on animals A new report has found dozens of cases of illness, death and reproductive issues in cows, horses, goats, llamas, chickens, dogs, cats, fish and other wildlife, and humans. It says these conditions could be the result of exposure to gas drilling operations. Hydraulic fracturing, popularly called hydrofracking, is a process for extracting natural gas from shale using chemicals and water. The paper's authors, Robert Oswald, a professor of molecular medicine at Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine, and veterinarian Michelle Bamberger, DVM '85, interviewed animal owners in six states -- Colorado, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas -- and cited 24 cases where animals were potentially affected by gas drilling. "We have a number of case studies -- they don't tell us about the prevalence of problems associated with hydraulic fracturing, but they do tell us how things can happen," said Oswald. Some of the case studies include:

DIY Tripod for Smartphone (iPhone SE) A tripod for about 10$ made from 3 folding metre sticks and some scrap wood. It took me about 4 hours to complete the project. I will include some tips about getting the right dimensions for other phones later that progress. untitled Editors Note: Guest Post by Betsy & Warren Talbot Let’s face it: We all have too much stuff. Whether it is the things you no longer need, the items you never got around to using, or the “treasures” thrust on you by well-meaning people, you are probably shrinking your living space with all that clutter. It’s more than simply buying nothing new. It’s being critical of everything you already own. Does it fit your life or not?
Building a Rain Barrel » Nashveggie Vegan and Vegetarian in Nashville & Middle Tennessee If you have a garden or alot of plants then you know that you can use quite a bit of water keeping everything green, especially when there are days or weeks between rain showers. So I undertook the task of doing just that. New Scientific Data Forces Government to Reverse Its Stance on Fluoride in the Water Supply Why are some states simply ignoring the latest studies, and passing new laws that will hurt your teeth and harm your health? Action Alert! Water fluoridation was introduced to the United States in the 1940s as a way to use waste product from the manufacture of aluminum, a waste product that was expensive to dispose of and which was harming cattle and farmland. Since then, the federal government has taken the stance that the fluoridation of drinking water, which conveniently disposed of the waste, is vitally important to help prevent tooth decay; the CDC called it one of the ten great public health achievements of the 20th century. But the the latest scientific studies have finally made the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) change their tune on how much fluoride is safe. Another study revealed that prolonged, high intake of fluoride can increase the risk of brittle bones, fractures, and crippling bone abnormalities.
copper tubing side table We’re thrilled to announce that D*S veteran and DIY genius Brittany Watson Jepsen will be sharing a short series of DIY projects with us over the summer! I’m particularly partial to this geometric side table, but they are all wonderful — so easy to re-create and perfect for the upcoming season. Trust me, you have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks :) Thanks for sharing, Brittany! — Kate I just moved into a studio space in downtown Copenhagen, and now I’m looking for simple furniture pieces to add to it. I have a serious fixation with copper tubing right now, so I thought I’d try it out to see if I could make it into furniture.

34 DIY headboard ideas The headboard is now looked at as a mainly decorative element in our bedrooms. As it usually happens, it all started from a practical reason/purpose.The headboard, a piece of furniture that is attached to the head of the bed, was initially an element that isolated sleepers from drafts and cold. Back then the buildings were less insulated and thus such a feature was needed. The headboards were made of wood because it’s a material that’s less conductive than stone or brick for example. With time, this function has been lost and replaced by a purely aesthetical function. Headboards are mostly decorative now, although they do have a certain amount of functionality.
