A Better Marker Pouch I made more marker pouches this past fortnight. First, a peek into our handmade past. It was well-loved and much-used, but it was never any good, to be honest. honigdesign: Garden Party Dress Pattern - FREE! Well, hello everyone! Fancy a sewing project this week-end? How about your very own Garden Party Dress?!

Free Pattern- On the Side « Abby's Knits Posted on June 20, 2009 by Abby On The Side by Abby Tohline Fully Reversible Cabled Scarf One problem I often have with scarf patterns is that they’re too simple, not interesting enough to make, or one sided. Actually, my biggest problem is that in my opinion, scarves should look the same (or equally good) on both sides. I love cabled scarves, but usually the only way to make them look good is to put a backing on them or to make them in the round.

BEACH WRAP FAQ and a Giveaway! *PLEASE do not post the patterns/ info graphics to Pinterest :)* This post is so long overdue. Over the last year, I've received *hundreds* of emails asking questions about how to make the beach wrap. And comments. Sew, incidentally...: Sleeve Pattern for the Sorbetto Top STOP PRESS!!! 00:17, 02-Aug-2011: The image and PDF pattern sizes have been resolved, and the links and instructions below are now correct! All over the sewing blog-i-verse the fab free pattern by Colette Patterns is being made up into a myriad of different iterations of the Sorbetto Tank Top. (I've made one too - to be posted about this week.) Now, I was already thinking about diving in and drafting a sleeve pattern myself to go with this super little sleeveless top, however Mena has already gotten there first (yay - less work for moi ;) !). She's produced the pattern as x2 GIF image files.

Lincraft Blossom (Blossom Tee) ...so here's the way that it usually goes...I see discounted yarn and buy as much as I can afford, or carry, or both!!! (but of course, that's just a given for all yarnies, right?). My next step is usually to take it home, drool over it, plan a million things to make with it, and then put it into storage bins for future use (:-D)...but, this time I was on a mission to use what I bought straight away :-) Drafting and Sewing Leggings // Stretch Yourself This series is sponsored by Baby Lock. For over 40 years, Baby Lock has been dedicated to the love of sewing by creating machines for sewing, embroidery, quilting and serging – all with ease-of-use, high quality and a touch of elegance. I’ve always loved sewing with knits, but recently I’ve developed an even greater obsession with it because of leggings. I’ve never had a problem finding leggings that fit (they’re all so stretchy most everyone can find the right size). What I have really enjoyed is making leggings in different colors, prints, and materials than are available in stores! The process of drafting your own to measurements is really quite easy, and once you have the pattern piece made, watch out, because you might become addicted to making your own leggings!

Climbing the Willow: izzy top - free pattern and tutorial It seems that for me Kids Clothes Week = free pattern. In April, I drew up the Lola Dress which led to the first free pattern on this blog. And then in July I offered 2 patterns, the Butterfly Jumper and the Basic Knit Shorts. Logically this KCW should result in 3 patterns if the trend held true, but it turns out I have the time, energy and brain power for only one pattern this time ... and to be honest, I think I may have borrowed some brain power from my kids just to finish this one :) Regardless, I did finish it, and here is the free size 2 (and now 18 mos - - 12!) Summer Romper for Kids When I dress my kids this summer, I plan to adopt a “one and done” philosophy. Rather than layering them up in t-shirts and shorts and tanks, I want to reach for one garment and go… And this Summer Romper for Kids is the garment I am going to grab! These Rompers are simple to make, fun to wear and so perfectly chic, I can’t imagine wanting to add anything else to the mix.

Tunic with Gathered Shoulders Loose, light, and breezy, we designed our linen Tunic with Gathered Shoulders for the dog days of summer. And with just four easy-to-cut rectangles and a handful of straight seams, you’ll be done sewing in time to enjoy these days! We used Purl Soho’s new whisper-weight Handkerchief Linen, a 100% pure linen weave that comes in a palette of summery hues, including this lovely Pale Pink. We topstitched our Tunic in luminescent neon orange for a combination of light and bright that radiates a warm glow, just like summer itself! -Corinne Update: New Fabric

Free Pattern with Dress Tutorial - The Littlest Studio Well Everyone,This is a project that I've been working on for months now. I had a thought of how nice it would be to have a library of pattern pieces that are completely interchangeable with each other. This would allow you to mix and match tops with different bottoms for any style of dress. Add sleeves or cut outs, whatever you wish.
