Teenagers and UK culture Why bring UK culture to the teen classroom? We can introduce UK culture into the English classroom to help our students improve their English and at the same time learn about values and ways of doing things which may be different to theirs. Learning about life and culture in the UK can be very motivating as it brings the language alive for learners and creates a link between language and real life. Mentimeter Review for Teachers Mentimeter helps to minimize the "death by PowerPoint" conundrum. The ability to create presentations where students ask and vote on questions, and take polls, allows teachers to involve their audience in ways that a traditional presentation can't. Letting students submit questions as you teach, using the Upvote feature as a gauge, teachers can use class time more effectively by addressing the needs of the many while still being aware of the needs of the few -- or even the one. The flexibility of the question types along with the ability to have students respond, see responses, and ask questions in real time, enables students to make relevant connections during a lesson rather than wait until after teachers present the information to be assessed. Student creation offers even more possibilities, allowing students to become teachers by creating interactive presentations for small groups or whole classes and bringing authenticity to classroom content.

Easter and the English lesson Angolos ötletek - 2013. március 16. Teaching holidays at the English lessons is my obsession. Once students get used to talking about topical events and holidays during the lessons, they start to get prepared for them. They like these topics as finally they get answer to some of their questions (what the origins of the holiday are, since when we celebrate it etc.) and they are interested in hearing how other nations celebrate certain holidays. Cardboard Play Dome : Paint on rivets I didn't have any metal paint for this. Instead, I mixed some of the silver colored metal powder with white school glue. I also didn't have a round sponge tip paintbrush, so I wrapped a napkin around the wide end of a chopstick, secured it with tape, and used that to paint the circles. The circles might've been a bit big for rivets, but it's a kid's play structure. My friend said they look like polka dots, but I like them.
