Kitchen Window: Corn, East Indian Style This recipe is adapted from Modern Spice by Monica Bhide (Simon & Schuster 2009). These small patties take practice to make perfect. Make sure the peanuts are not ground too fine. There should be small pieces in the mix. Fry on medium heat to make them perfectly crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles I think it is safe to say that most of us have eaten our fair share of raw cookie dough. When I was a kid, my mother would purchase cookie dough balls from our school Market Day program. I think I ate more dough balls than freshly baked cookies:) However, with the safety issues of raw egg consumption, recipes have been created for us to have our raw cookie dough and eat it too. The only way to make it better is to cover it in chocolate--yum! Many recipes for cookie dough truffles call for sweetened condensed milk. I don't use that in my actual cookie dough, so I use David Lebovitz's recipe for cookie dough.

BLT Salad Here's a salad version of America's favorite sandwich. We use shredded tomato as a base for the creamy tomato-and-chive dressing--adding great tang and flavor along with extra vitamin C. Ingredients Pumpkin Cupcakes With Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting I couldn't believe my eyes this week when I saw the ad for Pumpkin Spice Lattes in my local Starbucks. Pumpkin Spice already? But there's still a little more summer to be had, isn't there? Of course, it was impossible to stay upset for too long; after all, this is lovely pumpkin -- one of my favorite flavors of all time -- that we're talking about!

King Arthur Flour – Baking Banter - StumbleUpon Love brownies. Love their shiny, flaky top that shatters into micro-thin shards that shower onto your fingers as you eat. Love their dark, gooey center. Their “chocolate nirvana” flavor. Sometimes can’t deal with the bake, wait to cool, cutting into squares messiness and fuss of brownies. Want something I can enjoy within 5 minutes of its exit from the oven. sweet saturday: one minute peanut butter cake Picture this scene: it’s 8:30 in the evening. The sky is just starting to get dark outside your living room window. You ate a delicious, healthy and veggie-filled dinner a few hours ago and now you are ready to sit down to the most recent episode of So You Think You Can Dance and dive into a decadent plate of dessert. Oh wait, you have no dessert. No chocolate, no cookies, no ice cream, no cake, no pie, not even a Jordan almond. What’s a girl to do?

{recipe} Not Your Childhood Chicken Potpie Growing up, chicken potpie meant a Swanson’s frozen dinner, pulled hot from the oven before my parents escaped for a night of freedom. Those nights meant freedom to my sister and me, too: babysitters! The Love Boat! Fantasy Island! Almond Crusted Fish Tacos I am a germaphobe. I’m attracted to straight teeth. I will always choose to go through food magazines versus gossip magazines. But, when I go to Barnes and Noble to peruse the magazines…I love catching up on the gossip.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes September is finally here and all I can think about are all of the apple recipes I want to dig into. I’ve already lit my fall candles to get in the mood since we kind of have to fake the seasons over here in Florida. These caramel apple cupcakes smelled divine baking in the oven! These are super simple using a doctored cake mix but taste just like fall.
