Beautiful and Creative Examples of Stop Motion Animation Stop Motion Animation is one of simplest and traditional form of animation technique used for animating inanimate things. Just like a cartoon animation, a physical object is moved in small amounts between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when a series of images played in a continuous sequence on a video playback system. It may sound very easy, but this process is always time consuming and the final result will not be as fluid as a captured video. But there are areas in which you can or have to use stop motion technique.

In those years, photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944) undertook a photographic survey of the Russian Empire with the support of Tsar Nicholas II. He used a specialized camera to capture three black and white images in fairly quick succession, using red, green and blue filters, allowing them to later be recombined and projected with filtered lanterns to show near true color images.
