How to fold an adorable towel bunny while you wait for your meal One of the greatest things about going out to a restaurant in Japan is the oshibori, hot or cold towels given to patrons to clean their hands before a meal. We don’t know why more countries haven’t adopted this practice; there’s nothing better than being greeted by a soothing oshibori before a delicious meal. But once you’ve wiped your hands off (…and face for some people), that mini towel just sits around at the table looking like a soggy rag. That’s why we’re bringing you these easy instructions on how to create a bunny out of your oshibori towel. DIY Autumn Leaf Bowls As we mentioned before, this is our favorite time of year for DIY decor. The chill is in the air and the leaves are changing color, and there's no better way to preserve the delight than by welcoming it into your home. Yes, the craft stores overflowing with autumn decorations can be intimidating, but there are ways to turn those faux autumn leaves into something beautiful and functional.
DIY Painted Feathers I’ve always loved the idea of painting fake feathers, and with festival season underway it seemed like the perfect time to do it. I originally thought of these purely as decorations but then it occurred to me that they’d be a great finishing touch for a festival outfit. This is a great activity to do outside on a warm sunny day, and once you start it’s slightly addicting! What you need: fake feathers, paint (I used acrylic paint), and a paint brush. I got this paint from Utrecht and I love it. Felted Wool Rose Wreath Tutorial Supplies needed: hot glue gun and glue sticks, scissors, circle patterns (I used bowls), felt (I use wool felt, but you could also use regular felt), marking pen, grapevine wreath. Start by making circles all over your felt...I used blues and some light purples, greys, and cream colored felt for mine. Now cut out on the inside of the marked line. You can also just free hand the circles like I do, but I thought I would show you the scientific way to do it! Now you have your circles all cut out for each of the flowers...for the large wreath I made 27 roses, for the smaller one in the last picture I think there are 20 on the wreath. You can use less or more as you wish.

Make Your Own Magnetic Spice Rack Before we moved into our present home, we lived in a 2,000-square-foot loft in an urban neighborhood. Our kitchen took up over 200 square feet of that open space with cupboards and cabinets galore, and an island counter that was so massive, friends joked about having go-go dancers groovin’ on it while we hosted dinner parties. Now that we’re living in the coastal ‘burbs in a more traditional house, our kitchen has been downsized to less than half that space. They just didn’t need all that storage back in 1929 when our bungalow was built. 12 Awesome Home Organization Ideas People usually say that “there’s no place like home”.
