Gradients Linear gradients Linear gradients are gradients in their most basic form—a gradual blend between colors, following a straight line. I’m sure you knew that, so onto the more interesting stuff. Reflected gradients Reflected gradients are like their linear friends, but they repeat the gradient twice with the second repeat mirrored. Radial gradients Radial gradients start from the center (or any chosen point) and grow outward in a circular pattern. Angle gradients Angle gradients can be a great way to mimic environmental reflections found on highly polished metallic objects. Gradients on gradients Anything worth doing is worth overdoing, right? Dithering is everything Adding dithering to a gradient produces smoother results. If you’re not seeing the difference, here’s an extreme, completely unrealistic example of gradient dithering in action. Ensuring your gradients are dithered is easy—just check the appropriate box in Photoshop. Gradient Maps Without the gradient map, things look quite different.

intense creativity Interview with Photomanipulation Master, Erik Johansson Interview with Photomanipulation Master, Erik Johansson Posted by Richie on Saturday, February 6, 2010 · 34 Comments Photo manipulation are always fascinating to look at, because they separate reality from what we actually see. When done with utmost perfection, it looks so stunning that one cannot find the difference between what is real and what is not. In this article, we will meet one such artist who’s works are quite familiar to almost everyone because they are featured in most of the popular websites. Erik was gracious and obliging enough to answer a few questions about himself and his works and I consider it an absolute honor to feature someone of his caliber. 1) First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to inspire us with this interview. My pleasure. 2) Your art work is quite stunning and very realistic. My daily life and things around me, I get ideas from almost everywhere. It always starts with an idea. I only use Photoshop to create my photos.
The Secret Law of Page Harmony “A method to produce the perfect book.” The perfect book. This is how designer-genius Jan Tschichold described this system. Not the ok book, nor the pretty good book, but the perfect book. This method existed long before the computer, the printing press and even a defined measuring unit. And you can still use it. The Secret Canon & Page Harmony Books were once a luxury only the richest could afford and would take months of work to be brought to fruition. And they were harmoniously beautiful. The bookmakers knew the secret to the perfect book. So elegant is this method of producing harmony that a few designers saw to rediscover it. They found the way to design a harmonious page. There’s a dance to all this Let’s look at this dance, shall we? And here it is with them (using the Van de Graaf Canon and Tschichold’s recommended 2:3 page-size ratio, which we’ll get into next). This is where the harmony is found. How is this dance beautiful? A module is to a grid, as a cell is to a table. The J.

Add Dynamic Lighting to a Flat Photograph In this tutorial, I will show you how to spice up a fairly dull and flat photograph. It's very easy and fast! Go from flat photo to a uniquely lit style. Editor's note: This tutorial was originally published on Psdtuts in March of 2008. For this tutorial, we'll need two photos that I took. You can download them to follow along. First of all, my apologies for this step. Anyway, just use the Patch Tool (J) to remove the car and the Clone Stamp Tool (S) to recreate the pattern of the bricks where it used to be. If you've never used the Patch Tool, there are a couple of ways to use it. Once the van has been removed, apply Filter > Render > Lighting Effects to make the light come from the top right. With the tool that you prefer, create a selection of the part that you want to hide. Duplicate the background layer, desaturate it with Ctrl+Shift+U, apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with 4-pixel Radius, and set the Blending Mode for the layer to Overlay. Send it to the back of the other layers.

Drawing Projects | FindHow.com Though Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) now dominates the vast majority of animated movies being made, there is still something very appealing about a hand drawn image. Drawing by hand takes a great degree of skill and technique. There are so many mediums that can be utilized when drawing by hand, yet many people are only familiar with pencil art.
