Majority Of Digital Media Consumption Now Takes Place In Mobile Apps. U.S. users are now spending the majority of their time consuming digital media within mobile applications, according to a new study released by comScore this morning.
That means mobile apps, including the number 1 most popular app Facebook, eat up more of our time than desktop usage or mobile web surfing, accounting for 52% of the time spent using digital media. Combined with mobile web, mobile usage as a whole accounts for 60% of time spent, while desktop-based digital media consumption makes up the remaining 40%. Apps today are driving the majority of media consumption activity, the report claims, now accounting for 7 our of every 8 minutes of media consumption on mobile devices. On smartphones, app activity is even higher, at 88% usage versus 82% on tablets. SEO Tips: Dónde incluir palabras claveDiseño Creativo. The Rich World of Emerging Markets. The Brand Guidelines Document: An Overview. Forget Drinkability, For Coca-Cola It’s All About. Resuscitating a nearly three-year-old effort, Coca Cola has breathed new life into its “Share a Coke” social media campaign.
First launched as an Australia-only campaign in 2011, Share a Coke photos have been filling up Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds this summer. Branding media, and the general public, are paying close attention to the campaign. And having a lot of fun with it. Like this guy who popped the question with Coke. In-store Beacons – The Salvation of Stores or Shopper Annoyance. They are being heralded as ‘the next big thing’.
The technology allows shoppers to be tracked as they shop and for messages and offers to be sent to them, and is being tested extensively by major retailers and manufacturers alike. In-store beacons are touted as a way to massively enhance the shopping experience in bricks and mortar stores. Yet a recent report by OpinionLab suggests that shoppers aren’t convinced. 77% of respondents said that in-store tracking was unacceptable, and 81% said they didn’t trust retailers with their data.
Nielsen finds disconnect between America’s desire for better health and actual behavior. “Do as I say, but not as I do,” a phrase used by parents over several generations, could very well apply to America’s attitude toward healthy eating, a recent Nielsen/Natural Marketing Institute (NMI) report reveals.
“Health and Wellness in America” written by Sherry Frey, v.p. of Nielsen Perishables Group and Steve French, NMI managing partner, found that while three-quarters of Americans believe they can manage health issues through proper nutrition, 91 percent admit to snacking all day on candy, ice cream and chips. So does eating healthy and unhealthy foods in equal measure balance out? The Irresistible Allure of Pre-crastination - David Burkus.
By David Burkus | 8:00 AM August 13, 2014 There’s a fairly common maxim that “He who hesitates is lost.”
It’s a curious proverb, not only because its origins are murky, but also because it might just be really bad advice for productivity. Recent research suggests that rushing to complete projects might actually harm our productivity, a phenomenon that’s been called “pre-crastination”—choosing a more difficult way to complete a task just to be able to mark the task complete. This finding is the result of nine studies published together in Psychological Science by a team of Penn State University researchers led by David Rosenbaum.
Creating Retail Experiences: KitchenAid and the Hudson’s Bay Company Collaborate to Reach the Millennial Bride - lginstore. KitchenAid was invited last December by the Hudson’s Bay Company to participate in the development of a shop-in-shop initiative at a store in downtown Toronto.
The Hudson’s Bay store at Young and Dundas Square was undergoing a major redesign and this project represented a ground-breaking collaboration between this iconic retailer and Kleinfeld Bridal. The strategy behind this strategic partnership was simple: immerse brides in the “Say Yes to the Dress” experience and integrate the Bay’s bridal registry as a seamless part of that retail experience while the bride was at the store excited about beginning a new life (and building and furnishing a home) with the one she loves. The Challenge: Creating a Cohesive Retail Experience To help them design their branded shop-in-shop space, KitchenAid engaged LG&P. What Motivates the Millennial Bride’s Shopping Behavior? TED Talk Takeaways: 8 Ways to Hook Your Audience. “You will live 7.5 minutes longer than you would have otherwise, just because you watched this talk.”
This was the claim that video game designer Jane McGonigal presented to the crowd during her June 2012 TED talk. As the camera panned over the members of the audience, their faces showed universal skepticism: Was this lady serious? There was something else interesting about that crowd. Despite their doubtful visages, everyone in the audience was drawn in by McGonigal’s words. No one was checking their email, talking to their neighbor or looking at the camera circling in front of them; all eyes were fixated on the (potentially crazy) speaker. Five Things to Keep in Mind when Designing Dashboards. Dashboards are a great way to present information, especially when the data needs to be shown at a high level. Digital dashboards are collections of key reports, metrics, KPIs, and other data that provide relevant context and highlight the essential elements of a research study.
They are a great tool for presenting information to executives who may only have a few minutes to review and make decisions about a project. Millennials render campaigns extinct, channels irrelevant. Fendi Beats by Dr. Dre headphones NEW YORK – Millennials are rapidly changing how brands approach marketing, according to a senior executive from SDL June 25 at Forrester’s Forum for Customer Experience Professionals East: “Why Good Is Not Good Enough.” Data Stories – Think with Google. I have a goal in life: To rid the world of bad PowerPoint slides. We’ve all sat through meetings, struggling to stay awake during presentations filled with cheesy stock images, confusing bar graphs, and pie chart after pie chart.
This needn’t be so. Even the driest content can come to life – if it’s presented creatively. Tell a Meaningful Story With Data – Think with Google. Rudyard Kipling once wrote, “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” The same applies to data. Companies must understand that data will be remembered only if presented in the right way. And often a slide, spreadsheet or graph is not the right way; a story is. Executives and managers are being bombarded with dashboards brimming with analytics. They struggle with data-driven decision making because they don’t know the story behind the data.
