NOOK Simple Touch™ All-around Disappointment At first, I loved it. Conceptually, the Nook was just what I needed: lightweight, easy to read, uncomplicated. But it was a short-lived romance. iPad 3: Super-High-Res Displays a Go, But Yields Will Be Low By all accounts, the screen in the upcoming iPad 3 should be two times more spectacular than the display in the iPad 2, shown here. Photo: Jim Merithew/Wired.com It’s the most definitive assurance yet that Apple’s next iPad will include a screen with a near “retina display”-quality resolution: DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim has told CNET that “production has started” for 2048×1536, 10-inch-class tablet screens, and three manufacturers — Samsung, Sharp and LGD — are supplying parts to Apple. “It takes a couple of weeks for the production to go to the [the manufacturers],” Shim told CNET. “Then the manufacturer puts them in the housing.
Essential Music App Features: Audio Copy & Audio Paste — iOS Music And You The world of iOS music apps is still fairly young, a fact that presents many advantages and some distinct drawbacks. On the positive side of the equation, there’s an unrestrained sense of vibrancy and creativity in the rapid flow of new apps, delivering different ideas that inspire musicians to new heights. Apple iOS 5 Mobile Review It seems like every time a major software revision comes along, it’s described as the “biggest ever.” In the case of iOS 5, though, that might not be hyperbole—there’s hardly a part of Apple’s mobile operating system that isn’t altered in some way by the latest update. Don’t think that this is just change for change’s sake, however. By and large, iOS 5’s changes are for the better, spackling a number of shortcomings and gaps in functionality that have existed since day one. Tempting as it may be to dub iOS 5 the “Snow Leopard” of iOS, though, it’s clear there’s a lot more to this than simply filling gaps. iOS 5 marks the first major revision of iOS to be simultaneously released for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
